Hi, I’m Darren. I’ve called Kelston home for 35 years, attending St Leonards Road School, Kelston Intermediate, and Kelston Boys’ High School.

After high school, I studied at AUT and Auckland University, earning a Bachelor of Commerce with majors in Marketing and Management.

Graduating during the 2007/08 recession meant job opportunities were limited, so I turned my passion into a career. I founded New Zealand Automotive Distributors, starting from my home in Kelston before moving to Henderson. I still run the business today, proudly supplying much-needed automotive parts to customers all over the country.

When I have free time, I like to get away snowboarding, work on project cars, and catch live music gigs or concerts with friends. That’s why I’m passionate about seeing more venues and entertainment spaces out West — so locals don’t have to travel far to enjoy great events and experiences.
